Special Board Meeting
The Board of Directors of Everett School District No. 2, Snohomish County, Washington, held a special Board meeting on Monday, September 19, 2005, at 7:30 a.m., in the Evergreen Room of McCollum Park, 600 – 128th Street S.E., Everett, Washington. Board members in attendance were Sue Cooper, Kristie Dutton, Karen Madsen, Paul Roberts and Roy Yates.
BOARD ACTION AND/OR BOARD DISCUSSION
The purpose of the special meeting was to discuss and consider plans for the coming school year. In addition, executive sessions were held for the superintendent’s evaluation, negotiations and personnel.
President Yates called the special meeting to order at 7:30 a.m. and recessed immediately into executive session for discussion of negotiations and personnel. It was announced the executive session would be of approximately 45 minutes’ duration.
President Yates re-convened the special meeting into open session at 8:15 a.m.
Associate Superintendent for Finance and Operations Bob Collard provided a business and operations update.
President Yates recessed the special meeting at 8:50 a.m. for a brief rest break.
President Yates re-convened the special meeting at 8:55 a.m.
Associate Superintendent for Instruction Karst Brandsma and Executive Director of Curriculum Assessment and Implementation Terry Edwards provided an instructional update.
President Yates recessed the special meeting at 10:50 a.m. for a brief rest break.
President Yates re-convened the special meeting at 10:55 a.m. and recessed immediately into executive session for the superintendent's evaluation. It was announced the executive session would be of approximately 45 minutes’ duration.
President Yates re-convened the special meeting into open session at 11:50 a.m.
(Note: At 11:50 a.m., it was necessary for Board member Roberts to leave the meeting to keep another appointment.)
Next, the Board discussed strategic actions for 2004-2005, Board roles and responsibilities and future agenda items.
At 12:25 p.m., President Yates adjourned the special Board meeting.
