Pumping Life: The Heart and Circulatory System
(22:00)

Description:

The human body has an incredibly intricate system of vessels that provide all the different parts of the body with life-sustaining blood. The heart is the pump that keeps pushing the blood through the thousands of miles of the circulatory system. This video follows the functions of the circulatory system. The importance of blood and the roles of red and white blood cells are emphasized. We see how billions of cells get the oxygen and food they need for energy and how harmful wastes are removed. Graphics show the functions of the heart. The four chambers are then examined and the journey of the blood explained. © 1989 Rainbow Educational Media
