Middle school boundary process continues in preparation for 2008
Student enrollment is growing most rapidly in the southern portion of the district and is expected to continue doing so. In
preparation for that continued growth and to alleviate crowding at some district middle schools, a committee is now at work to
re-draw middle school boundaries. The new boundaries will be in place for the school year starting 21 months from now –
September 2008.
The committee began meeting in November 2006 and will meet on January 10, 2007 to finalize their preliminary middle school
boundary recommendations. The committee invites public comments about those preliminary recommendations at a hearing
set for Wednesday, January 17, 2007 from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Eisenhower Middle School, 10200-25
th
Ave SE,
Everett.
Early in January 2007, families potentially impacted by the committee's preliminary boundary recommendations will receive a
yellow postcard indicating their 2008 middle school attendance area. The postcard also includes details about the January 17,
2007 public hearing.
Maps representing the committee's preliminary boundary recommendations will be on the district Web site in early January
2007. Information about the committee work to date is also on the Web site. Families can subscribe to committee meeting
reports via e-mail by sending an e-mail request to msboundary@everettsd.org
