Everett Public Schools welcomes next year's kindergarten students 

Although this school year is not yet finished, and there are nine more months before the next school year begins, it is time to think about kindergarten registration for next year.

Children who will be 5 years old by Aug. 31 are eligible to begin kindergarten in September. To ensure that there are enough teachers and classrooms ready for next year's youngest students, district elementary schools will begin registering kindergarten students starting March 9 for the 2009-10 school year.

Full information about registration is available on the district Web site www.everett.k12.wa.us , at neighborhood schools or by calling 425-385-4032. Students who are not 5 years old by the end of August, but who will be 5 by Oct. 31, might be eligible for kindergarten through the early entrance program. Early entrance program information is also available at each neighborhood elementary school office, or at 425-385-4032.
