Register by June 26 for August WASL test
Students wishing to take advantage of this summer’s opportunity to meet WASL graduation
requirements MUST register for the August testing by Friday, June 26, in one of two ways:
1. Online at the Web site of the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction
, or
2. by phone at 1-866-400-9275
“With just two weeks left in the registration window, we encourage all students hoping to meet WASL
graduation requirements to take advantage of this summertime opportunity to do so,” said Interim
Superintendent Karst Brandsma. “When they register, students will be asked to give their State
Student ID number which is available from each school. Students who register after our schools close
on June 19, can get their State Student ID number from their WASL Score Reports or by calling the
district assessment office at (425) 385-4054.”
This summer’s testing begins on Monday, Aug. 10, and ends on Thursday, Aug. 13. All tests are
given according to the following schedule at Cascade High School located at 801 E. Casino Road in
Everett.

Reading: Monday, Aug. 10 with session one beginning at 8 a.m. and session two beginning at
1 p.m.

Math: Tuesday, Aug. 11 with session one beginning at 8 a.m. and session two beginning at 1
p.m.

Writing: Wednesday, Aug. 12 with session one beginning at 8 a.m.
?
Writing: Thursday, Aug. 13 with session two beginning at 8 a.m.
Students must attend both testing sessions of a subject to generate a WASL score. Students taking
the writing test may break for lunch at noon and return to work on the test at 1 p.m. if needed. Tests
are not timed. Students should plan to make their own lunch arrangements and plans for
transportation.

Students and parents with questions are urged to contact high school counselors or success
coordinators this week. “It is important that you make those contacts to get details before school
ends,” urged Brandsma.
