Monday, June 25 now set as last day for 2006-07

Monday, June 25 is now the last day of school, as long as there are no more days of canceled school this school year.

In early February, the school board announced a revised calendar for the school year. Previous bad weather had forced the

district to close schools six days. The calendar plan as of early February included Tuesday, February 20 as a contingency day

in case bad weather hit before the 20th. The board-approved plan also indicated the district would add school days in the

week of June 25, if circumstances closed schools after February 20.

Consistent with the unusual weather pattern of this entire school year, the district closed schools one more day after February

20. Thursday, March 1, 2007, brought unusually heavy spring snow. Because of the additional March 1 districtwide closure of

schools, the last day of school in Everett Public Schools is now Monday, June 25, 2007. Additional days will be added that last

week of June week if the district is forced to close schools between now and June 25.

The remaining make up days for students are:

. Friday, June 8 (all day for all students)

. Friday, June 22 (all day for all students)

. Monday, June 25 (early release for all students)
