EHS Community Update 11-4-09
EHS Community:
I forgot to mention in my last email that this Friday is the end of the quarter grading period. You
will be getting a quarter progress report at the end of next week. Quarter grades are not put on
the transcript but rather are a gauge for how your student is doing at the half way mark. I
encourage you to contact teachers directly if you have any concerns about your student’s
grades. Counselors can also schedule parent, student, and teacher conferences, if you feel it
would be beneficial to get all of your student’s teachers together.
You can reach staff from our website at: http://www.everett.k12.wa.us/everetthigh/Staff%20List .
There are still nine weeks left in the semester. This is plenty of time for students to improve their
grades! Don’t wait to talk with teachers. Remember that teens often have a high capacity for
denial. If you look on IMS and they are missing assignments or their grades on their
assignments are dropping, it is time to call the teacher and develop a plan for success. Below

Good luck to all our student athletes in the district and state competitions! My apologies to Girls’
Cross Country. We have a runner who qualified for state and will be traveling to Pasco for the
championship meet!

Thanks From Grateful Parents:
If you were at the football game last week, you know that one of our students was injured.
His parents have asked that I share with you their thanks for the kind thoughts and words
they received.
Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. It is every parent’s nightmare to
encounter what happened to our son Malaki II (MUK) last Thursday. We are so
fortunate to have him walk out of ER and back to us. We could not have done this
without your prayers.
The coaching staff and the football team stopped by after the game to bring Muk
his piece of chicken and his snack (the important things in life). The parents also
stopped by to offer a hand and help.
Dr. Matthews and Mr. Brian Elliot were a great help in making sure Linda and I got
to spend the time with our son. Thank you
Today Muk went to the Doctor for a followup and I think he is alright because he is
suiting up for the Tuesday Game. So we will see you at the game.
