BUS RIDERSHIP RULES AND EXPECTATIONS
1. Cooperate with and obey the drivers at all times.
2. Stay in your seat, facing forward with your backpack in your lap.
3. Keep head, hands, and feet inside the bus.
4. Pupils must cross the roadway only in front of the bus and only with the consent of the bus driver.
5. There is no eating or drinking on the bus.
6. Bus drivers are authorized to assign seats.
7. Use of tobacco products, matches, and lighters are prohibited at the bus stop and on the bus.
8. Observe the same rules of conduct on the bus as in the classroom.
9. Be courteous; use no profane language-oral, written or gestured.
10. Keep the bus clean.
11. Balls, toys, etc., if allowed at school, must be stored in a bag.
12. Skateboards, skates and shoes with wheels are not to be worn on the bus.
13. Balloons are not allowed on the bus.
14. If skateboards are brought on the bus they must be in a zippered, cloth bag.
15. Electronic devices are not allowed to be used for audio or videoing on the bus.
16. Pupils shall ride their regularly assigned bus at all times, unless permission to ride a different bus
has been granted by school authorities.
17. Unless issued a bus pass by school authorities no pupil shall be permitted to leave the bus except
at his/her regular stop.
18. Each pupil must see that his/her belongings are kept out of the aisle. Large items are permitted on
the bus only if it can be placed on students laps.
19. Pupils must see that they have nothing in their possession that may cause injury to another
person. (such as glass, pen, pencils or sharp objects)
20. No animals are allowed on the bus. i.e.,insects, slugs, class room pet.
21. Pupils must board/disembark the bus in an orderly manner.
22. Pupils must not stand or play in the roadway while waiting for the bus. Pupils should arrive at the
bus stop five minutes before the bus is due. Students should never run after the bus.
23. Destructive behavior is prohibited. Students will make restitution to either the Everett School
District or Durham School Services for damage done to buses.
24. Cell phones must be turned off and remain in the students backpack at all times.
