Resolution 813: Authorizing Civil Lawsuit Against State of Washington
The Administration recommends the Board of Directors adopt Resolution 813: Authorizing Civil Lawsuit Against State of Washington (ATTACHMENT). The resolution authorizes the Superintendent of the District to: 1) retain special counsel; 2) file a civil lawsuit against the State of Washington for failing to meet its constitutional obligation to fully fund the costs of the District’s program to provide special education services; and 3) enter into an interlocal agreement for the purposes of working collaboratively with other school districts on issues related to the State funding of special education and associated issues. | |
