a. Everett Public Schools Teacher of the Year
A selection committee, comprised of students, parents, teachers and administrators, reviewed the applications for the Everett Public Schools’ Teacher of the Year (ATTACHMENT). This year’s 2007-2008 Teacher of the Year is Cynthia McIntyre, who serves as a science teacher at Everett High School. | |
b. Update—Forest View Elementary School Project
The Administration will present an update on the progress of construction of Forest View Elementary School. |

b. Award of Bid: Hawthorne Elementary School Seismic Upgrades
The Administration recommends the Board of Directors award the bid for the Hawthorne Elementary School seismic upgrades to Corstone Contractors, LLC, for the base bid of $751,834, plus Alternate A-1, for a total award amount of $806,557, plus Washington State sales tax (ATTACHMENT). On May 14, 2007, five bids were received for the project, with base bids ranging from $751,834 to $879,000. A summary of the bids and a letter from Klappenbach Architects recommending the award of bid are attached. The project is funded by the 2006 bond issue. The Board authorized a call for bids on March 13, 2007, with an estimated construction cost of $795,000. | |
c. Award of Bid: Everett High School Civic Auditorium Upgrades
The Administration recommends the Board of Directors award the bid for the Everett High School Civic Auditorium upgrades to RAZZ Construction, Inc., for the base bid in the amount of $769,000, plus Washington State sales tax (ATTACH.). On May 17, 2007, four bids were received for the project, with base bids ranging from $769,000 to $837,000. A summary of the bids and a letter from CNJA Architects recommending the award of bid are attached. The Board authorized a call for bids on April 24, 2007, with an estimated construction cost of $549,000. | |
d. Award of Bid: Garfield Elementary School Modernization
The Administration recommends the Board of Directors award the bid for the Garfield Elementary School Modernization to Spee West Construction Company for the base bid in the amount of $10,298,000, plus Washington State sales tax (ATTACHMENT). On May 15, 2007, three bids were received for the project, with base bids ranging from $10,298,000 to $11,852,000. A summary of the bids and a letter from Dykeman Architects recommending the award of bid are attached. This project is funded by the 2006 bond issue. The Board authorized a call for bids on March 27, 2007, with an estimated construction cost of $9,575,000. |
