General Building Rules


 





Students must:


 
1. Check out in the office before leaving the school grounds during the day.


 
2. Walk quietly at all times when going from one area to another inside or outside the building, including the tunnel area. Students should keep to the right in the hallways, on stairways, and on walkways.


 
3. Take coats, gloves, etc. with them when they go out to recess. Students are not allowed in buildings during recess without supervision of an adult.


 
4. Follow bicycle rules. Only third grade through fifth grade students may ride bicycles to school. Bicycles should be locked and must be kept in appropriate bike racks. Bicycles will be walked on school grounds at all times. Students are encouraged to wear bicycle helmets. Students must register their bikes in the office.


 

5. Mark softballs, jump ropes or toys to play with at recess with his/her name.

 





Students will not:


 
1. Play in the halls or lavatory at any time.


 
2. Stand in or walk through danger boxes (the area in front of doors, which are marked with yellow paint).


 
3. Bring skateboards, rollerblades or scooters to school.


 
4. Be on the stage or behind the curtain in the cafeteria unless under adult supervision.


 
5. Use inappropriate language or gestures.


 
6. Chew gum in school.


 
7. Run on the blacktop in the area defined by the buildings.

BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL


 





Students will


 
1. Cooperate with school safety patrol members and treat them with respect.


 
2. Go directly home after school unless involved in an after school program or community program. Students may not return to school grounds until after 4:00 p.m.


 
3. Arrive at school at 8:15 am. They must stand in their assigned line-up area until the first morning bell rings at 8:30 am and their teacher takes them into the building.
