Goal:

Create number sentences, or equations, that result in the target number.

Materials:

·   Partner

·   Paper or white board

·   Writing utensil

Directions:

·   The first person writes the “target” number on the board.

·   The other person writes down as many different number sentence/equations, that result in the same target number.

Modifications:

·   Put constraints on the number of digits and/or the operation(s) used in their number sentence/equation. For example, “If we could only add two numbers, how many answers can we find?”
