    Sample Elementary School


     

    In order to improve and enhance student academic achievement, Sample Elementary staff, parents and students agree to build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve the high standards of Washington State.

     





    Sample Elementary will:

     

    Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and successful learning environment that enables the participating children to meet the state’s student academic achievement standards.
    · Our core curriculum (reading, math, writing and science) align with the state’s rigorous academic standards.
    · The Smarter Balanced Assessment is given once a year in grades 3, 4, and 5. We use these results and other tests to help us make plans to increase student achievement
    · Academic support is given to students not meeting standards.


     

    Hold parent-teacher conferences during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievement. This year, conferences are in October and March.

     





    Communicate with parents regarding their children’s progress and needs.
    · Progress reports will be sent home in January and June.
    · Teachers will contact parents individually as needed at other times in the year.
    · We reach out to parent by phone, bulletins, flyers and by providing meetings and activities at flexible times.
    · We translate important materials in the ______ languages.


     

    Provide parents reasonable access to staff.
    · Sample Elementary teachers are available to consult with parents 30 minutes daily before and after school.


     

    Provide parents opportunities to volunteer and participate in their child’s class, and to observe classroom activities.
    · Parents are welcome to visit classes by appointment as allowable.
    · They are also invited to volunteer with the PTA, specific academic programs, co-curricular activities, and on the Title I Advisory committee.
