Yes, I agree that it would be good to send something out to all staff.

That is a good idea, Molly. I think, with this situation, the more communication the better.

Thanks for the email. I saw this in the Seattle Times this morning.   UGH!!

Since, not all employees received the WEA email, I am wondering if there should be a communication sent to all district employees?   I know that there may not be much to share at this point, but at least there would be some form of communication out to staff.   Thoughts fellow Trustees?   Randi?

    Hello-

I thought I would contact you briefly this morning about the Premera security breach. I ’m sure everyone is aware of the situation as of yesterday.

All WEA members were emailed an announcement last night and directed to this website- http://www.premeraupdate.com for more information as well as a toll free number to call- 1.800.768.5817.

The breach went back as far as 2002 so we don't know yet what, if any impact, it could have here in Everett. In my conversation with Premera last night I was told letters notifying people potentially impacted would start being sent Tuesday March 17 th . I specifically asked if those letters would be sent to individuals even if they were no longer Blue Cross/ Premera customers. They told me yes, letters will be sent to anyone caught in the security breach.

I ’m probably not adding anything new to what you already know, but wanted the Trust to be aware of what is taking place to date and the actions Premera is currently taking.

    Thanks.
