Creative Communication: How to Bring Great Ideas to Life
Presentation Description : Developing a communication strategy is paramount to the success of your wellness program. This workshop will help you outline a communication strategy that fits your population. You will receive guidance on how to write a plan for your school/district, and how to think “outside of the box” to create support and interest in your current/upcoming programming. You will leave with a toolkit of ideas on how to move your program to the next level. In this workshop we will discuss: communication formats, marketing, writing goals, creating a culture of health, wellness committees and leadership support. For this session I use an example of how I created a mindfulness program for Everett Public Schools using the above strategies.
Learning objectives: At the end of this session, participants will be able to (know and do):
- *Identify their next steps in creating their own communication strategy. This will include their ability to identify current gaps in their communication program, and be able to make adjustments to fine-tune (or start from scratch) their communication plan that will generate more support and engagement overall.
- *They will also leave with ideas on how to use resources they did not know were available to them and generate a few innovative ideas in the workshop that focus on marketing and creating a culture of well-being.
Presenter(s) and bio(s):
Having been in the workplace wellness world for 20 years now, I have played many roles defining, developing and researching wellness and its evolution. Having been with the Everett School District for almost 3 years now, I have learned the real importance of work-life balance and how to get staff on-board, so they may become the more resilient and happy teacher that they all strive to be.
Please confirm that you will be presenting at the OR School Employee Wellness Conference by January 17 th .
Again congratulations -- we look forward to working with you and seeing you in Bend!
Kind regards,
Maureen Caldwell
