Terms of this contract:

For first semester, this student has earned a grade that reflects a below-standard level of mastery in this class. Grading for this class is Standards Based. At the end of second semester, one of the following will occur:

 

· If the student is at standard or above by the end of second semester, the first semester grade will be changed to a “C - .”

 

· If the student fails to reach standard by the end of second semester, the grade assigned at the end of first semester will remain.

 

Proficient, or at-standard, work indicates a consistent and solid understanding of the skills defined through the four traits of writing (content, organization, style, and conventions) and the three traits of reading (comprehension, analysis, and critical thinking). All grades at and above 70% reflect an at-standard level of mastery.
