      1. Proposed New Policy 5131—Hiring of Retired School Employees

      The attached proposed new Policy 5131—Hiring of Retired School Employees, is provided to the Board of Directors for first reading with adoption to be requested at a future Board meeting (ATTACHMENT).

        The Administration will provide a report on the District’s Food & Nutrition Services  program.

      b.   Approval of Cooperative/Combined Dive Program With Cascade, Everett &   Jackson High Schools and Mukilteo School District’s Kamiak High School for the  2007-2008 Boys’ Winter Season    

              The Administration recommends the Board of Directors approve the cooperative/       combined dive program with Cascade, Everett & Jackson High Schools and         Mukilteo School District’s Kamiak High School for the 2007-2008 boys’ winter       season (ATTACHMENT). Everett Public Schools’ high schools currently use       the Forest Park pool for their dive team practices. The Forest Park pool will be       closed from November 22, 2007 to January 1, 2008, eliminating the District’ ;s       practice facility. Approval for the District’s high schools to combine with Kamiak       High School for this upcoming 2007-2008 dive season would allow District high       schools to continue to practice and compete within the interscholastic activities, as       governed by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA).
