DIRECTIONS FOR GPA LESSON/WARM UP #1
Start this lesson as a warm up with students who are able to average numbers. For those who can’t average, guide the students through the process. Students will need their midterm grades for this lesson.
Once class has started, please stress these points to the students and help with any calculations:
Please return these sheets to me, even if a student can’t finish it.
They may not take them home.
This lesson gives the kids an introduction to “GPA”, although most will be well aware of what a GPA is. The students will be reminded of how one or two (or more) low grades can affect their overall GPA.
If they ask, the Honor Roll is made up of students with at least a 3.5 GPA.
DIRECTIONS FOR GPA LESSON/WARM UP #2
The directions for this lesson are similar to Lesson #1; however, the students are using their first and send trimester grades and comparing them. Remind the students to bring these grades to class the day before they are to do the lesson.
