To Go Boldly and Beyond in STEM Scholarship

This scholarship exists to support an ambitious young African American woman, in the pursuit of a STEM degree, at a 4-year University. One young lady from each of our four Everett Public High Schools will have the opportunity to go boldly and beyond in either science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. This scholarship can be renewed at the completion of the first school year for a final second year award.

African American women have made vast progress in the academic STEM world, yet they are still underrepresented in many fields. STEM jobs, especially the highest paid STEM fields and positions women make-up 28% of the science and engineering workforce despite being 50.2% of the college-educated workforce. This scholarship aims to support college-bound students in their first two undergraduate years to ease the financial burdens of college so they can flourish.

My life and career have been focused on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and the educational support of young people making up our workforce. Without the dedication of parents who always taught me to give myself the opportunity to take on education with gusto and master it with intensity, I would not have been able to accomplish the possibilities that I have. Therefore, my aim is to continue to support young African American women, like me, who have those same dreams and desires I had To Go Boldly and Beyond.
