The Administration will present the results of a feasibility study for a central administration facility as well as information about potential funding sources. The study includes an evaluation of potential sites for a facility centralizing the district’s administrative functions in one location. Currently, the District’s administrative functions are located in three separate facilities.

The Administration will provide an overview of current projects and initiatives of the Information Systems and Technology Department (ATTACHMENT). | |
Information will be provided on various pathways available to students to meet WASL mastery and fulfill the District and State graduation requirements (ATTACHMENT). The State of Washington has implemented a new graduation requirement beginning with the class of 2008. In addition to the usual district graduation requirements, students must also meet Mastery on the state standards measured by the WASL in Reading and Writing. In addition to the high school diplomas, students may earn a Certificate of Academic Achievement or Certificate of Individual Achievement. The process for earning each certificate will be discussed and the approved alternative options/pathways to mastery will be explained. | |
The attached proposed revised Policy 4215—Title I, Part A, Parental Involvement is provided to the Board for first reading with adoption to be recommended at a future Board meeting (ATTACHMENT). The revisions enhance the specificity of the policy and comply with the NCLB Act of 2001. | |
