a. Progress Towards Graduation: Trailing Indicators of Success & Goals for Class of 2009
The Administration will present a review of the District’s progress towards graduation for all students. A complete accounting for the class of 2008 will be provided, and goals and projects for the class of 2009 and beyond will be shared. In addition, the District’s progress toward AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) as measured by the WASL will be discussed and an examination of the progress towards addressing the achievement gaps between different student groups will be provided (ATTACHMENT). | |
b. Update—Jefferson & Whittier Elementary Schools Modernization Projects
The Administration will present an update on the status of designs for the Jefferson and Whittier Elementary Schools Modernization Projects (ATTACHMENT). | |

a. Consent Agenda 1) Personnel Report (ATTACHMENT); 2) Voucher Lists (ATTACHMENT); 3) Resolution 924: Intergovernmental Cooperative Purchasing Agreement for the Purpose of Establishing an Interlocal Agreement with University Place School District No. 83 (ATTACHMENT); 4) Title I Neglected & Delinquent Grant (ATTACHMENT); 5) Authorization to Contract with Providence Children’s Center for Early Childhood Intervention Services (ATTACHMENT); 6) Agreement Between Everett Public Schools & Gentiva Rehab Without Walls, LLC, for the Continuation of Rehabilitation Specialist Services for Specific Special Education Students In Accordance with the Student’s Individualized Educational Program (IEP) (ATTACHMENT); and 7) Revision to the 2008-2009 Classified Non-Represented Non-Exempt Salary Schedule (ATTACHMENT). b. Authorization to Call for Bids: Everett Memorial Stadium Locker Room Improvements The Administration recommends the Board of Directors authorize a call for bids for the Everett Memorial Stadium locker room improvements. This project includes the construction of a new visitors baseball locker room, shower, restroom and coach’s office in the basement level of the Athletics Building. The existing Everett High School sports storage area will be modified to allow for the new locker room facility. New stadium-style lockers will be added in the existing Locker Rooms C & D to better accommodate the Aquasox. This project will be funded through a $433,000 allocation (from the State of Washington in their 2007 Capital Budget) for minor league baseball facilities improvements. The work is scheduled to be completed by June 30, 2009. 8. BOARD COMMENTS 9. BOARD ACTION AND/OR BOARD DISCUSSION a. Study Session—2008-2010 Fiscal Update The Board is being asked to discuss the K-12 funding challenge facing the State of Washington and school districts throughout the state. Staff will present information on the scope of the challenge, why the current situation differs from that experienced in the past, initiatives being considered at the State level, the local fiscal outlook, and the process being proposed to identify areas for expenditure reductions for the Everett School District in future budgets (ATTACHMENT). |
