On Saturday, Dec. 8,26 EHS cadets competed against nine other high schools in the first Northwest Drill and Rifle Conference
Match of the year and earned impressive awards for their efforts.
Everett High School took third place for Unarmed Drill Team and fourth place for Armed Drill Team.
Not only did the teams place well, but individual students earned honors also. Josh Harmer, a senior, took the top honors with
second place for Individual Armed Exhibition Drill and first place overall as Armed Drill Team Commander. Bailey McShurley, a
junior, earned a third place award for her work as Unarmed Drill Team Commander. Wesley McIver, a junior, and Jose Correa,
a sophomore, won second place for Dual Armed Exhibition Drill Team.
Superintendent Whitehead notes, "These committed students are making a very good showing during the drills which require
precision and teamwork. We are pleased to see the results of their hard work and training."
Our cadets say ‘thank you" to all who came out to support us during the competition, and we invite everyone to see us
performing again in January.
The team's next competition takes place at Mount Tahoma High School on Jan. 26, 2008.
