WASL classes for H.M. Jackson parents launches district series
Do you know which graduating class must pass the WASL science test to graduate? Do you know what WASL information is
recorded on student transcripts? And what happens if a student in your family passes two out of three or three out of four of
the WASL sections? What subjects are tested on the WASL, anyway? And where can I get all of this information?
The world of WASL is complex, but it need not be overwhelming or intimidating. High schools in the Everett Public Schools are
hosting a series of information sessions to answer those questions and more.
At 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 H.M. Jackson High School kicks off the first in the district's series of high school
    WASL information sessions.
We've set this special night aside to help ease what might be families'concern about this spring's WASL tests, said Terry
Cheshire, principal at HMJ. The WASL is important. By making sure families understand the details, students will be more
relaxed and able to do their very best work. We've invited students and parents to come together to this evening program with
    counselors and teachers.
H.M. Jackson High School's WASL January 16 evening begins at 6:30 p.m. in the school commons and ends at 8:35 with the
    last breakout session.
