New elementary boundaries in place for September 2007
In November 2006, the school board approved new boundaries for six district elementary schools -- Woodside, Cedar Wood,
Silver Firs, Silver Lake, and Penny Creek. New boundaries were also drawn for students who will attend the new Elementary
17 now under construction and scheduled to open in September 2007.
In December 2006, families impacted by the new boundaries received a blue postcard designating the elementary school that
students in that family are assigned to attend beginning fall 2007.
That blue card also alerted families to the option of applying for a variance to remain at their current elementary school if they
are willing to transport their children to that school. February 1, 2007 is the deadline for that variance application to be given a
high priority. Variance applications received after February 1 will have a lower priority in the district's variance decision-making
process.
More information about new elementary boundaries
, district variances
and a variance application are available on the district
Web site
and from the variance department at 425-385-4070.
