Cascade High School seeks information about sports memorabilia theft
Cascade High School asks for community help to solve the recent thief of historical and sentimental
athletic property taken from the lobby of Reg Scodeller Gymnasium sometime between Friday, June
5 and Sunday, June 6.
The stolen items, all of which have tremendous sentimental value for the student athletes, coaches,
staff, administrators, parents and alumni, include:
?
Three Championship footballs with student-athlete team member signatures
o 1980 – Region 1 Champs – 4th place State Finish
o 1991 – WIAA State Championship
o 2005 – WIAA 3rd Place
?
Brett Jensen’s retired football jersey, number 55. This is a white jersey with crimson letters and
numbers and was the jersey Jensen wore at home football games.
Cascade’s Athletic Coordinator, Doug Kloke, explained why the loss is difficult for the school and
those who knew Jensen. “The loss of Brett Jensen’s football jersey is especially disappointing for his
family and the Cascade High School community. This jersey, number 55, was officially retired by
Cascade High School and our football program in 2002. Brett Jensen was an outstanding student,
scholar, athlete, leader and friend at Cascade High School during his high school career – 1997-
2001. Brett tragically died on May 7, 2002. As a tribute to Brett’s contribution both on and off the field,
his home football jersey was officially ‘retired’ on Sept. 21, 2002. Number 55 will never be issued
again to a football player at Cascade High School.
“We at Cascade High School are asking for any information that might help us recover these lost
items. If any student, parent, or community member has any knowledge or information about this
theft, please contact Cascade High School at 425-385-6000 and reference case number
DD09 11756.”
