1. We Do

We Do

Student Achievements

Students, parents, and teachers, we have much to be proud of. Over the past five years, students’ scores on achievement test in math, science, and reading have steadily improved. Fewer than ten percent of our students leave school without earning their diplomas, and more than half of our graduates go on to college. These are major accomplishments. We have turned a failing school into a strong institution that is a source of hope and pride for our community. If we are to continue to progress, we must provide our students with what they need. As you know, our leaning center is too small and too old to meet our students’ needs. Ever day, we turn students away because we don’t have enough space, tutors, books, or computers. We need money to obtain these resources.

Next month, our community will vote on whether we get the money we need to improve our leaning center. I urge all of you to talk to your neighbors about our school. Tell them why the proposal to fund the learning center deserves their support. Remind them of the progress we’ve made and will continue to make with their help. Let them know that every “yes’ vote is not only an investment in our school, but also an investment in the community.
