Fine Arts Classroom Based Performance Assessments
Assessment: Middle School Visual Arts (“Other Strategy” allowed by state law.)
Student Population: Grade 8 students who receive instruction in the Visual Arts from a Visual Arts specialist.
Class: Grade 8 Visual Arts
Frequency of Testing: Once per grading period with new students.
Directions: Students will complete a one-point perspective drawing assignment. Teachers will use a common assignment checklist.
Time Requirement: Teacher will determine the appropriate length of time students have to complete the assessment. Assessment will be completed approximately by the end of each grading period.
Scoring: Teacher will score assessment using a teacher created rubric as they would other Visual Arts assignments in their class.
Reporting: Number of students participating will be e-mailed to Curriculum Office for the purposes of reporting to OSPI. Reporting due date will be set based upon the OSPI reporting due date.
