    Special Board Meeting

     
    The Board of Directors of Everett Public Schools, Snohomish County, Washington, held a special Board meeting on Thursday, July 30, 2009, beginning at 4 p.m., in the Board Room of the Educational Service Center, 4730 Colby Avenue, Everett, Washington. Those in attendance were Sue Cooper, Karen Madsen, Carol Andrews and Ed Petersen. Although not present, Kristie Dutton participated by speaker phone until 4:55 p.m.
     
    BOARD ACTION AND/OR DISCUSSION

    President Cooper called the special meeting to order and, due to the extreme heat in the board room, immediately recessed for ten minutes to move the meeting to the portable building’s air-conditioned conference room which is connected to the Educational Service Center. A note was posted on the board room door. President Cooper re-convened the special board meeting at 4:10 p.m. and recessed immediately into executive session for discussion of litigation and to plan or adopt the strategy or position regarding collective bargaining. Before going into executive session, it was announced that the executive session would be of approximately 2 hours & 15 minutes’ duration. Karen Madsen excused herself from the room at 5:04 p.m. and returned at 5:20 p.m.

     

    President Cooper re-convened the special meeting at 6:25 p.m. and adjourned immediately.
