Proposed Tuition for Pre-School Program (first reading) The administration recommends the Board of Directors approve a tuition fee of $116 per month per student for non-special education preschool students for the 2010-2011 school year (ATTACHMENT). This information is provided for first reading by the Board, with adoption to be recommended at a future Board meeting. | |
b. Fiscal Outlook & Budget Development Process Update
The administration will provide an update on the fiscal outlook and budget development process based upon legislative budgets, progress of the Fiscal Advisory Council and format for the March 30, 2010 Board carousel meeting. | |
c. Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for 2008-2009
The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for 2008-2009 is presented for the Board of Directors’ information (ATTACHMENT). | |
d. Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting, and Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for Everett Public Schools’ 2007-2008 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report
The ASBO and GFOA awards are presented for the Board of Directors’ information (ATTACHMENT). Each award was presented to the District for the 2007-2008 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. Regarding the ASBO award, the District is one of eight school districts in the state to receive this award; for the GFOA, the District is one of five school districts to receive the award. | |
e. Financial Reports as of January 31, 2010
Financial reports as of January 31, 2010, are provided for the Board of Directors’ review (ATTACHMENT). The reports include year-to-date information on revenues and expenditures, General Fund projections, a cash report and an investment summary. | |
f. 2009-2010 Strategic Plan Update
The administration will provide an update on the progress related to the annual Strategic Plan (ATTACHMENT). | |
8. ACTION ITEMS
a. Proposed Revised Policy 1450—Minutes (second reading) The attached proposed revised Policy 1450—Minutes, is provided for second reading for the Board of Directors’ review and adoption (ATTACHMENT). One of the two proposed revisions pertains to retaining audiotapes of Board meetings. Advice from the Office of State Archives indicates that audiotapes of Board meetings should be retained for six years, or one year if transcribed, regardless of the existence of approved official minutes of the meeting. The second revision, presented to the Board at the February 23, 2010, Board meeting, is to recommend replacing the word “record” in the first sentence with the word “keep” so that the sentence would say, “The secretary of the Board or designee shall keep the minutes of all Board meetings.” |
b. Res. 984: Classified School Employee Week – March 8-12, 2010
The administration recommends adoption of the attached Resolution 984: Classified School Employee Week – March 8-12, 2010, in honor of the approximately 800 classified employees working with and helping children in the Everett School District (ATTACHMENT). | |
c. Res. 985: School Retirees Appreciation Week – March 15-21, 2010
The administration recommends adoption of the attached Resolution 985: School Retirees Appreciation Week – March 15-21, 2010, in honor of school employees who have retired from active teaching, administration or a specialized field of the teaching profession (ATTACHMENT). | |
