READ 180 ENTRANCE & EXIT CRITERIA


 

 





Entrance Criteria into Read 180 from previous trimester/semester:

 
ü Student has not met standard on the Reading MSP/HSPE (District Reading Assessment to be used if student has not taken Reading MSP/HSPE)


 
ü Student’s overall GPA is below 2.0


 
ü Student’s grade in English or Language Arts is a D” or “F


 
ü Student’s Lexile score indicates he/she is significantly below grade level proficiency


 
ü English or Language Arts teacher recommendation


 

 





Exit Criteria from Read 180 at the trimester/semester:

 
ü Student has met standard on the Reading MSP/HSPE


 

OR

 
ü Student’s overall GPA is at or above 2.0


 
ü Student’s grade in English or


 
ü Language Arts is a “C” or above


 
ü Student’s Lexile score consistently indicates he/she is at or above grade-level proficiency


 
ü Read 180 teacher recommends student for exiting the program based on additional formal and informal measures of success that may include:


 
§ Increased scores on grade-level Read 180 rSkills Tests


 
§ Read 180 Topic Software data (e.g., comprehension, context score and rate)


 
§ rBook completion and success level


 
§ Observation of skill levels, motivation, attitude, and behavior


 
§ Reading Counts! quiz scores


 
§ Number and level of books read


 
§ rBook Workshop writing samples


 
§ Student self-evaluation
