| Help students navigate through the WOIS portfolio system. A system they will continue to use throughout high school. Students will also continue their exploration of career opportunities and career interests. |

CLASSROOM
| Discuss Goal of the Day (5-10 minutes)

Day 1:
| Today we will be working in the WOIS Portfolio system. You will be completing a career interest survey and answering questions based off of your results. Please take this seriously. This information can be helpful in your pursuit of post high schools goals.

| Go over the Career Interest Profiler activity. (Hand out the directions and worksheet)

Discuss with the class:

| Computer Work (40 minutes)
|
It is now time to log onto the WOIS portfolio system and begin working. If you have any questions raise your hand. If you complete this activity and you have time left in class, you need to keep working in the WOIS system. Research another career or school program.

| Students will follow the handout and complete the interest profiler in WOIS. They will also answer questions based on their results.

| When finished students will have time to work on other assessments, update their portfolio, etc.

| Students will save their career interest profiler results in their portfolio. And if asked will be able to answer questions about what they learned about their interests.

Steps for completing the Interest Profiler
Name: ___________________________
Day 1: Follow the steps bellow to complete the Interest Profiler in WOIS.
1. Go to
www.wois.org
and Log on with your Site Key. If you are not asked for a Site Key, go to Step 2.
2. Click on “Assessments” on the left navigation panel.
3. Click on “Interest Profiler.”
4. Click “Start.”
5. When you are finished responding to all the statements, Click on “Go to Next Page.” If you have missed answering any of the questions, the page will appear with unanswered selections marked in red. Respond to those statements and Click on “Go to Next Page.”
6. When you finish answering the questions on all 5 pages, type your name in the box, then click on “Finish.”
7. Save the results of the Interest Profiler to your Portfolio by clicking Save to My Portfolio.
8. Enter the Portfolio User ID and Password that you created for your Portfolio log in. (Remember your User ID and Password is your Student ID #.)
9. Click “Login.” Your Interest Profiler was successfully saved in the Assessment Results section of your WOIS Portfolio.
10. Click on “Return to Interest Profiler.”
11. Begin answering the questions on your handout.
