GOALS: 1) Students enter class requests for 11th and 12th grade.
2) Students fill in Activity Log in WOIS.
 
TIMELINE: One Period in computer lab.
 





ESSENTIAL    

QUESTIONS:   What are my academic goals?

  What courses do I need?

 What activities have I been involved in?

 





MATERIALS    

NEEDED:   [] Computer for each student

 [] WOIS Activity Log handout for each student

 [] High School Planning Guide for each student

 [] Individual HAC log in Card for each student

 





CLASSROOM    

ACTIVITY 1:  Students fill in/update 11th and 12th grade years for registration (30 minutes)

  Follow your school’s registration plan and have students review and edit their 11th and 12th grade classes.

  

In most cases you will review graduation requirements and student transcripts so they can make informed decisions about the classes they request.

ACTIVITY 2:  Fill in WOIS Activity Log (10 minutes)  

 When students start finishing the registration process they can use the WOIS Activity Log handout to track the different activities they have been involved in the first year and a half of high school. If time permits they can continue with career research.

When you apply for Jobs and college you will be asked to provide the different activities you have been involved in during high school. This work sheet will walk you through putting your activities onto your WOIS Portfolio so you can easily access them at any time. It is recommended that you periodically update you activity log so it stays current and you don’t forget about some of the different activities you have participated in during high school.

 

Got to: www.wois.org and follow the steps below:

 
1)

Enter the Site ID in top left of page if needed: eyx643 or type in your User ID and Password (both are your student number)
2) Click on “Portfolio” in the left green column
3) Click on “Student Activities” in the left green column
4) In the “Activities” area click on “Add New Activity”
5) Fill in the relevant information and click “Add activity”
a. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all you activities from 9th and 10th grade have been added
