| Help students define their personal skills in regards to the work place, career options based off of these skills, and possible colleges which will help them meet these needs. |
TIMELINE:

| Discuss Goal of the Day (5-10 minutes)

Day 1:
| Today we are going to be using WOIS to learn about skill sets and important things you will want to consider about a working environment when you begin to research your future career goals.

Day 2:
| Yesterday you looked into career options, skills you are good at, and what is important to you when it comes to a working environment. You also took some time to reflect on what it is you learned about yourself. With this in mind, you are going to do some research today on finding the right college for you and your post high school goals. Even if college is not were you see yourself, use the information you found the other day to help you plan for you’re your future goals. Today you will look into Colleges that will help you get to your career goals. |
| (There is a powerpoint to help you with describing the difference between probable, possible, and reach schools and it gives a visual for “How do I stack up?”)

| Think about were you want to go to college, what are your probable schools, your possible schools, and your reach schools?

| - On their worksheet they will have identified 2 occupations based on their work values data.

| Students will have filled in criteria to find their top colleges, which will be saved to their portfolio.

Step 4: Read “Before You Begin”

Step 1: Sign into your WOIS account
Step 2: Click on SCHOOLS in the left hand column of the screen
Step 3: Make sure you have the state you are researching schools picked (ex. Washington)
Step 4: Click on SCHOOL SEARCH (At the top of the screen)
Step 5: Click on START SCHOOL SEARCH
Step 6: Begin filling in your criteria. The more information you fill in the better match of schools you will receive.
Step 7: Answer the following questions –

Step 16: From your college search, pick your number 1 college choice as of today and complete “How do I Stack Up?”
Steps to take:

Once you get to CollegeBoard.org
2.)
Click on “Find a College” at the top of the screen
3.)
Click on “How do you compare” (On the right side of the screen)
4.)
Enter the school you hope to go to at this time under “Find a College”
5.)
Highlight the school in the Search Results area by clicking on the school’s name
6.)
Click “Select” at the bottom right of the screen
7.)
Enter your High School Information in the column to the right (to the best of your ability at this time)
8.)
Click “update” at the bottom
9.)
