CLASSROOM
ACTIVITY 1: Review how to read a Transcript and Grad requirements
(10 minutes)
Hand out student transcripts and “Future Year Plans” forms if they have not been previously given to students.
Walk students through the transcript or transcript eval form to ensure they know how to read it to help them make good class selections for next year. Have them hand write any changes or additions onto their “Future Year Plans” form.
Check each students “Future Year Plans” from to ensure they selected the appropriate courses and included alternates.
ACTIVITY 2: Input Senior year classes into HAC
(20 minutes)
After the students have successfully filled out their “Future Year Plans” form give them their HAC log in card and instruct them to input that information into the system. Most of them will likely have some classes if not all of them already scheduled. After students have completed inputting their schedules into the computer check once more to ensure they put in the correct classes.

ACTIVITY 3: Junior Survey, Register for theWashBoard.org and walk through of the District Scholarship Site
(use remaining time)
Walk the students through the district scholarship site at
http://www
. everett.k12.wa.us/counseling. Then hand out the Junior Survey Instructions and theWashBoard.org registration handout. Make sure students complete the Junior Survey first and then spend the remainder of the class period filling out theWashBoard.org information or looking through the district scholarship site. They will need to finish theWashBoard.org registration on their own.
STUDENT

Washington State’s College Scholarship Finder
Go to:
www.thewashboard.org
Click on “Seeker Registration” in the bottom left corner of page
Follow the prompts and type in the characters shown in the image
Fill in the requested information and click “Complete Registration”
The WashBoard site will send you an email you need to open to complete your registration.
Open your email from theWashBoard.org and click on the website link included in the email. After you click on the link you will be able to log into the site. (This step needs to be done within 5 days or your request will be deleted and you will need to start the registration process over again)
Log in using the email and password you provided and Click on “Go To My Profile”
Much of the profile will need to be completed on your own. If you have questions about how to fill out portions of the profile ask your parents, or a teacher, counselor or career specialist.
