Pennington called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM

 

1st agenda item - two year plan   

Smith has completed an outline which he and Fender will review, finalize and submit to committee over the next couple of weeks. Smith will meet with Fender on Thurs the 8th of May. The plan will include items such as safety review by committee, Equipment and software purchase, and student leadership. It was discussed that these issues will be addressed by:
1. Safety review will take place at the first meeting in the fall
2. Equipment is being reviewed/evaluated by Smith/Fender and will be finalized this spring
3. Student leadership is being addressed by involvement will Skills USA chapter

2nd Agenda Item – AYES interns and summer conference

It was agreed that Smith will attend the AYES summer conference in Detroit in July and he has registered and made airline reservations. Smith and Fender are also considering having Smith attend the WACT conference in Spokane this August.

Smith has 3 potential interns this summer and Pennington will Job Shadow 2 of them. One student is interviewing at a local Honda dealership this week. Peter will be doing the intern/mentor training with Ron this spring. The date will be announced later. Peter has received his intern/mentor training supplies.

3rd Agenda Item – Volunteer recognition

Smith is having a BBQ to recognize/thank advisory members for their help this school year. The BBQ is scheduled for June 18th.

4th Agenda Item – Program status/update

Fender and Smith are still considering a software/hardware training program for fall implementation and will keep the committee posted. Smith has requested the classroom and parts-room be painted this summer. The alignment machine has arrived and we are awaiting installation/training from Hunter. Some modifications were required of our alignment hoist.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 7:00PM
