CTE Vision

To empower each student to find their passion through relevant applied learning experiences that connect students with their family, community and career to become lifelong learners, responsible citizens and leaders.

CTE Purpose

To enhance each student’s K-12 academic learning through relevant experiences, leading to a productive career and personal life.

One idea is to offer certificates of proficiency to students who earn a B or better. Is this an adequate measure or are there examples from industry that would be more appropriate?

Program growth and marketing – Discuss ways to grow the Business and Marketing program. What are staff and students doing to showcase the Business and Marketing program? Are there other ways that can be added?

Program growth and marketing: middle school career fairs, high school and beyond night (w/parents and students), meet with counselors, career fair (district wide), tech night, websites, 8^th grade night, 8^th grade letter, display cases, middle school registration transition days, scholarship money, t-shirts, Announcements, Northwest Afternoon, CTE fun fact of the day, district PowerPoint, advertise in student newspaper

Ideas for doing more from business people: names of classes associated with the club, so students know the classes go with clubs, advertise more around school


Student Intern Opportunities – What opportunities are there in the community to provide internships for students?

Student Intern Opportunities: Job Shadow at Safeway through Safeway Takeover, Frontier Bank has Internships, Beth is going to check with her leadership team

Volunteers needed for International Economic Summit (Sponsored by the Federal Reserve) at Jackson High School on March 26^th in room B203 from 8:25-10:40

Gary Hoff – Business Journal is asking for volunteers March 12^th from 2:00-3:00 and March 13^th from 4:00-5:00 at Everett Community College

Rose Smith wanted to invite everyone to the Financial Night at Jackson 7:00-8:30
