Ms. VcVeety stated that she has an entrepreneurship curriculum in place that it can be used for high school students. This curriculum provides a fundamental education experience to students interested in how to start a business. Also, it equips the students with applicable skills and tools to succeed in their chosen endeavors.   The curriculum can be incorporated in business and marketing classes, i.e. business plan, marketing project, technology project, etc.

Ms. Hadley suggested that the curriculum be incorporated in the middle school

and high school as well. Ms. McVeety volunteered to provide a mentoring

relationship for any teacher interested in using the curriculum. Ms. Thompson’s

Economics class, spring semester, will be used as a trial pilot program.

    2. Real Life Mathematics Examples. Mr. Dorsey stated that mathematics is an essential component in the workplace. Mr. Dorsey also stated that banking is all about math, i.e. calculating appraisal reviews, interest rates, loan values, taxes, debt ratio, mortgages, etc.

should be equipped with the following desirable employability math skills:

must know basic math--addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. An

    solve maintenance problems.

    3. Updates from Industry—Teaching into the 21st century. Last, Mr. Dorsey stated that there is no time in the workplace to deal with behaviors; he will train the unskilled and someone that can fit in a group but will not deal with behaviors.

Ms. Hadley suggested informal interviews be incorporated into the curriculum—job resume preparation.
