It was noted by Karl that I should have sent a email to the other committee members a few days before our meeting.
Our topic of discussion concentrated on how to incorporate math in the video classes.
We realized that there currently very little math in the course and we will have to be very conscious about adding the math portion into our classes.
We also talked about the different editing platforms everyone is using. Premier Pro for Everett and Jackson and Avid Express for Cascade. We talked about getting more editing stations for Cascade which has 6 while the other schools have site licenses. One suggestion was
Avid Free
for Cascade.
We also talked about internet filtering and wondered if the CTE teachers could have a different set of permissions. There are wealth of internet resources that are directly related to the teaching we do in class that are blocked.
Phil pointed out a very cool site he found that had an example of student produced video. We talked about other activities we can do to create interest in increasing our numbers in the video classes. Some of the idea were school news cast, video taping assemblies, and video yearbooks.
