Attendance: Jeff, Nancy, Lauren, Laurie, Debbie, Michelle, Kristin, Diane, Pam, Chris, Carin, Erin, Corie, Leslie, Ramona

 

Program Adverstising-Markeing
· Numbers for enrollment are up


 

Nancy (suggests to market obesity concerns for Foods classes)

 Leslie – introduced Careers in Education (pilot program at EHS)

 Jeff- Scholarship for students going into Education (Central Lutheran)

 
· WASL Alignment- CTE supports WASL


 

Technology in our Classes and how the Advisory uses Technology in their field
· Chris and Pam = Health District
o Computers, research, public health updated information, data anaylis, Excell spreadsheets
o Research diversity, create diverse publications
· Kristin-research, outlook calendars, excel, podcasts, office
· Michelle- Data analysis (colletion)


-phone meeting, GIS mapping (survey monkey)
· Ramona – ¾ time with technology (tracking with excel-vizeo)
· Debbie W- excel, specialize software, large group telephoning
· Nancy- research, web sites and information, online classes
· Jeff- texting is good in some ways-still need personal relationships


 
Ø We talked about the lack of Business, letter writing and cover letter skills.


 

Ask what will help for next years Advisory meeting’s to be successful?
· Provide more framework on what we are Teaching (more specific information about our classes)
· More specific questions
· Proved all FCS Frameworks
· Carin-suggested to break up into small sub-committees to work on specific questioning and information
· Corie-suggested working on one class a year
· Stay away from broad ideas


 

Email Advisory Communitee in advance for lesson assistance, they can also provided field trip to worksites
