    5:30  Welcome – Introduction

    Lauri Beth Hull, Murray Gordon, Rob White, Marc Rosson,

    Maggie Thorliefson, and John Low

     

    Robotics club report from Jackson, 4 engineers volunteered over 6,000 hours.

    Started with 35 students, ended up with about 15 students

    Competed in their first robotics competition.

     

     



    5:40 Annual review of two-year plan
    Question about alignment with national level tech standards.
    Computer Programming, Java, video game programming
    Career Component – IT Jobs – Health Care/Records, IT Green Jobs
    Focus on basic technology concepts, less a+ exam questions more on concepts that make it all happen.
     
     
    6:15 Green jobs are the hot trend. What, based on your industry, would you suggest as student projects that can promote green jobs?
     
    For example: A fashion merchandising assignment to design or promote a style of dress. What “green” fabrics could be used?


     

    Energy Auditors – ECC is looking at adding a program in this, you need basic computer, networking, security type skills

    PUD is putting money into “smart grid” technology

    Germany uses 30% solar power, a major supplier of the technology is a company from Ohio

    Power storage is an issue
