Each year a two-year plan is drafted for each CTE pathway. Staff take the plan to advisory committees for review and input. There are six goal areas for review tonight. As the plan is reviewed explore the following questions.
Curriculum Development (assessment)
Does this item reflect industry standard?
How are these items assessed in industry (at your workplace)?
Program Marketing
How many students should we expect to see in the classes we offer?
What is a reasonable goal for enrollment in the classes we offer?
Based on your knowledge, is this the best method to market these programs?
Career Component
What are career exploration activities that you believe are meaningful for potential employees who are looking into a career in your place of business?
What is the most important activity in your profession that can be incorporated into career exploration for students?
Leadership
In CTE, leadership involves building individual, group, community and career skills, do these items incorporate growth in these areas?
Which of these experiences would you like to see in employees at your workplace?
What should we be assessing and encouraging in our students?
