    This past Sunday January 12, 2014 Jackson High School’s For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics team hosted the North Interleague FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC). 28 teams from around the region competed including two teams from Cascade High School. Cascade’s second year team the BEAR Bots and their rookie team the Hibernotics performed extremely well Sunday. They placed 9th and 11th, respectively, out of 28 teams. Both teams were chosen by one of the top four teams to compete in the championship alliances. The BEAR Bots made it to the semifinals, and the Hibernotics not only made it to the finals, but were part of the North Interleague Championship Alliance. They came home with medals and a trophy and will be advancing to the state competition on Sunday January 26, 2014 in Issaquah.
