March 27-29, thirty two Jackson High School (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics team members headed to Ellensburg Washington along with 36 other teams from around the region to compete. During this event, the team won the Engineering Inspiration Award. This award is the second highest award that a team can earn and it demonstrates that Jackson’s FIRST robotics team “Jack in the Bot” is making an impact in their community sharing the message of FIRST and Engineering. They will now present in Portland Oregon April 11th and 12th with 64 other teams from Washington and Oregon for a spot to Worlds which will be held in ST Louis, April 23 – 26th. In addition to the Engineering Inspiration award, the team’s robot performed with excellence and finished 8th in the Offensive Power Rating.
