This week the STEM Leadership Network (SLN) will meet for a full day workshop. The SLN is composed of K-12 STEM teachers, administrators, and community partners that help inform the Everett Public Schools STEM mission and vision. During this workshop, the SLN will address the idea of “STEM literacy” and the attributes needed for a STEM fluency The day will begin at Aviation Technology Services (http://atsmro.com
). The SLN will attend a short tour and spend time talking with employees about the knowledge and skills needed for success in various positions. The team will then return to the CRC and attend further mini-workshops around STEM education, parent expectations, and technology. During all these experiences the SLN will reflect on what “STEM literacy” means through these vantage points. The thoughts, ideas, and observations will be collected and used to create a district definition of a STEM literate student in Everett Public Schools.
