Subject: CTE STEM Course Re-approvals      Submitted by: C Fender

    Target: 1.2.b

Each year; specific Career and Technical Education (CTE) Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) programs are required to go through course re-approvals for each course within the four program areas identified by the Office of Superintendent for Public Instruction (OSPI). These program areas include: Family and Consumer Sciences / Health Sciences, Business and Marketing, Agriculture, Skilled and Technical Sciences / STEM. Within each program area there are a multitude of courses. The re-approval process helps ensure CTE STEM programs are high quality, ensure academic rigor, align with state’s education reform requirements, help address the skills gap of Washington’s economy and maintain strong relationships with local CTE advisory councils for the design and delivery of CTE STEM education. For this school year; the area of focus for the CTE STEM programs within Everett Public Schools are those in the Family and Consumer Science / Health areas.
