Currently there are fifty three Career and Technical Education (CTE) Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) teachers who have applied for and received a conditional CTE STEM certification and teach courses under the CTE STEM umbrella for the 2013-2014 school year. There are twenty seven high school teachers and twenty six middle school teachers who fit within this category. Conditional CTE STEM certifications need to be renewed annually. The past few weeks we have been meeting with these teachers and site administrators at each of their sites to complete their applications for another year of CTE conditional STEM certification along with a written professional development plan for the 2014-2015 school year. The professional development plan is developed to identify courses the teachers need to take so they may move forward towards a CTE STEM initial certification.
