On Thursday May 1, 2014 Everett’s Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp (NJROTC) color guard attended a kickoff for Military Appreciation Month at the Flying Heritage Collection at Paine Field. A Seattle radio station KVI 570 kicked off the ‘Military Appreciation Month’ with a ‘Listener Appreciation’ event. There were several national-level radio personalities present and they did a live broadcast from the hangar deck. The producers of the event asked that Everett’s NJROTC provide a Color Guard and National Anthem singer for the function. Everett’s NJROTC program was represented by their champion all-female team along with Cadet Susanna Komp to sing.
