I am calling because you have been invited to participate in a three-part series of events hosted by Everett Public Schools. We hope you received your invitation in the mail recently. We want to share with preschool providers in our community the work that is going on in early learning in Everett Public Schools, and invite you to be a part of it.

As you undoubtedly know, this is an exciting time in preschool education, with many changes. There is increasing research that shows the benefits of a strong preschool program. Race to the Top and the Washington Kindergarten Inventory of Developing Skills (WaKIDS) are being implemented, and there is a lot of interest across the state and in our community about early learning.

Everett Public Schools is working to build our connections with preschool providers. We would like to tell you about the work we are doing, ways that you can be involved, and invite you to meet others who are also engaged in this work.

We are hosting a series of three events. The first session, entitled “Early Learning: What’s Happening at the State and Local Level?,” is offered on two different days to accommodate busy schedules. You may choose to come on Tuesday, February 5^th from 6:30 to 8:30pm, or on Saturday, February 9^th from 9:00 to 11:00am.

Both will be held at the Longfellow Annex Building at 3715 Oakes Avenue in Everett.

We would love to have the administrator and program director from your organization attend, and encourage you to bring a lead teacher. If there are others you feel would be interested in attending, please feel free to invite them as well.

If your staff is in need of STARS hours, we will have MERIT forms and the necessary documentation available for them to submit for approval.
