Counting
Numbers to 20 (before, after, between, greater, less, what comes next)
10 Frames – combos to 20, odd/even, counting
Use number line – count on, count back, how many more…?
Estimate before counting (How many students will be absent this week? How many will
buy milk today?)
Guess My Rule
Focus: Objects (attributes and characteristics – size, shape, color, thickness)
Calendar
Today, tomorrow, yesterday
Month order - What month comes before December?
Year long calendar – how many months in a year? Identify months with vacations, etc.
Missing Numbers – What is missing? How do you know?
Daily Schedule
Discuss schedule with morning, afternoon, and evening
Weather
Graph data on a bar graph - label
Measurement (includes daily schedule, calendar, coins, vocabulary such as how much
longer/shorter, taller, heavier/lighter, etc)
Intro a dime – identify and count by tens
Directly compare length, weight or capacity of objects in the room
