Project Requirements: You will select a disease of your choice (only one person per disease) Next you need to answer the questions on the following sheet and prepare a PowerPoint presentation to share with the class.

 

Steps to complete:





1. Sign up for a disease (consider what runs in your family)

2. Research the disease and find the following information (must use at least 2 sources):
ü Disease description
ü What does the disease do to the human body?
ü Symptoms and signs (how might a person know if they have the disease?)
ü Is there a cure?
ü How is the disease treated?
ü How do you get the disease (ethnicity, genetics, circumstances, random)
ü Where in the world is it most commonly found? (Is there a region that has a larger number of cases – may be statistics)





3. Answer ALL the questions on the sheet provided
ü Information needs to be written in YOUR OWN WORDS. NO CUTTING AND PASTING.
ü Should include at least 2 sources cited at the end of your paper. Use credible sources and be specific with your source (google.com is not a source)





4. Organize the required information about your disease on your PowerPoint
ü Present a summary of all the information from your question sheet.
ü Should be 3-4 minutes in length





5. Practice your presentation
